This course focuses on the key ideas that inform the creation and interpretation of theatrical performance in the modern era. Through an analysis of theoretical texts as well as plays and performances, students will gain a working knowledge of philosophies including semiotics, post-structuralism, feminism, post-modernism, and post-colonialism.
