Examines the values, structures, and policies that shape the political attitudes and behavior of women and toward women in developing countries. Women’s contributions to social and political change, as well as the impact of such changes on their lives, are discussed. The primary goals are to develop insight into the lives of women in developing countries, and to understand the determinants of their problems and achievements, including the legacy of colonialism.
