This course examines major works of American drama from 1916-1964, focusing on issues of dramatic style and form, theatrical production and reception, cultural and political contexts, and issues and themes relevant to American culture. Through analysis, interpretation, and research, students will develop a deeper knowledge and unique perspectives on the creation and production of theatre during this important era in American history.
