Students look at long-form journalism, its triumphs and shortcomings, and its future in the digital age. Works come from a variety of sources, but focus intently on the period from 1946-1980. Specific pieces include John Hersey's Hiroshima, Capote’s In Cold Blood, and articles by Lillian Ross, Tom Wolfe, Gay Talese, Hunter S. Thompson, Alex Haley, and Isabelle Wilkerson.
